I bought this laptop a couple of months ago, from Amazon, as a refurb.

When I log in it says something like: Cable connection, PXE-MOF, exiting...
Too fast for me to see all that it says.

The laptop: ASUS, i7, 4G RAM, Windows 7.

Anyone know what this is? And how to troubleshoot this???

So after it says PXE etc. it does go ahead and load up Windows?

What do you mean by login, above? You push the power button and then what screens do you see before you get to the desktop.

Usually "PXE" would be referring to booting from a network. So most of the time when people see that message it is when there HD is not recognized and the computer can't boot to HD, there is no CD/DVD to boot from and the last thing it tries is a network (which most home users don't have). Then the PC just sits at that screen. It sounds like yours is trying to boot to the network first and then tries the HD and is able to boot OK from there. If that is the case then it may be a matter of switching the boot order in BIOS.
