If a network is set so if there is inactivity for more than 10 minutes, it logs you off the network. It is set and locked by the lan administrators. Is there a way to work around this with some kind of software such as something you could turn on and off as needed? I vaguely remember something from long ago about a little ping program in IRC. I totally agree security is great and it aids in tracking productivity(?) but sometimes this type of setting is more of a nuisance and a hindrance than a help when you're working on something tricky and you are interrupted by a call or a driveby chatty kathy. I was thinking of getting one of those little toys that jump up and down and stick it on the keyboard..........!

right click on the desktop and go to properties, then click the screen saver tab & uncheck "On resume, password protect".. if you have rights to it.
