My system boots up normaly, once I log in, my wallpaper shows up for 1 or 2 seconds n then then it logs off by itself, it does this on both the guest and other user accounts.

    I have XP Pro

A visit to the malware removal forum should be in your immediate future. There's a virus/malware that will cause the computer to do exactly what you describe; it messes up the userinit.exe file which is part of the Windows login procedure.... I'm sure this isn't what you wanted to hear :(

You have to start a new thread ...you cannot post in other's threads....:)

It will also not let you post if you try to include HJT logs with your post instead of making them an attachment. Please read:

Try tapping F8 key during startup and choose SafeMode W/ Networking. Could also try a third party firewall and an anti-virus if you aren't already using them. Having access to another computer is another possibility. Download the tools that you can to disk and run them on the infected pc from the cd rom.

How were you able to post a new thread here? Do you mean you can see this forum in general, but the New Threads button doesn't show up?

Just in case this is not a problem with your computer but rather that you have not found the position of the New Threads buttons for the other subforums besides this one: The New Thread buttons are sparser than the New Post buttons, but both of these occur in the same relative position. The new post buttons are at the top of each thread on each new page, but the New Thread buttons are at the beginning of each sub-forum. If you go to the top of this page and hit Help & Technical Forums, it will take you to a list which begins not with the subforums but with Guides. You have to go down below the Guides to get to the subforums. Click on Malware Removal and on the page that opens up, there should be a New Thread button over towards the left side.

Hope I'm not telling you something you already know.

At this point, it seems to me that you have numerous problems, and you may want to think about wiping and reloading Windows, or at the least, try a safe in-place reload. If you decide you want to wipe, but have stuff you need to save, use the UBCD4Win (links: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=5710 and for detailed info: http://www.ubcd4win.com). It's like a bootable Windows that runs exclusively from the CD and supports CD burning and virus scanning/removal and all sorts of stuff.....

ok thanks i want to do that but i don't have a Windows XP CD.Do you know a way around that?

Unfortunately there is no way around it as far as I know. You might be able to use the i386 folder from your hard drive to build the CD, but that's beyond my scope of expertise. Maybe a friend has an XP CD you can use? If you have acces to another PC, you could also remove your hard drive temporarily, hook it up to the other PC, and save your data that way, but you'd still need the XP CD and your installation number (product key) to reload the Windows... You can extract your product key from a registry hive file (see this link: http://www.majorgeeks.com/ProduKey_d4953.html download and unzip, and read the README for instructions on how to get the key from a drive that isn't drive C: ), but the key does you no good without the CD, and vice versa..... I'm not sure what to tell you at this point; if you can borrow an XP CD, and you can get the key from YOUR hard drive, you can reload Windows and/or build the UBCD4Win.... good luck!
