Logical disk manager not registered

Help !! I can't access disk manger or get xp to recognize my 200gb usb drive
it doesn't show up in my computer but it shows in device manager as location 0
whatever that is. I am running an emachine t2682 with 765mb of memory,what do i do to fix this problem?

Is this an error message you're getting from somewhere? What service pack are you using? SP1 and earlier had occasional problems with the Disk Mgmt component. If you're receiving an error that uses "...not registered" it generally refers to DLL files or a system service. First, download and run Dial-A-Fix. Check all the boxes in the 'Registration Center' and click Go. If you get errors, post them here. If Dial-A-Fix doesn't help, right click My Computer, and click Manage. Use the screen shot below to find the Logical Disk manager services and make sure they are enabled and set as shown in the screen shot. Right click on the name of the service in the right pane and select Properties to change the settings....

 

Logical disk manager service is running but the disk manager won't open you
can see the drive in device manager it says its in location 0. ran dial-a fix- no luck
I'm running xp home sp2

 

the logical disk manager services are started and set on auto and it still won't open. i have tried sfc/scannow and since i don't have the disk i can't run that
dial a fix found numerous items and i attached some of them

 

i didn't have dmreg.inf in my i386 folder, i installed it from my xp cd and it works now
