Following problems with Tune Up Utilities 2008 and IE7 I followed instructions in another thread and ran 'autopatcher'. After rebooting my system I am now being asked for my windows login and password. As far as I can remember this is a first and I am now stumped and cannot get into my pc. I've tried all of my usual login/password combinations without success. Any ideas if this will be something I have set in the past or a system driven login/password that was set on installation? Any help with this would be much appreciated.

What OS are you running? Have you tried Safe Mode (F8) during start up to see if you can log in to the Administrator account? Often leaving the password blank will work if you haven't set one.

I'm running XP home edition (SP3).

I've just tried logging in without a password and thats got it (can't believe I didn't think of that!)

Thanks very much for your help with this.

Still having problems with Tune Up Utilities 2008 and IE7 but I'm gonna start a new thread for that one.

I'm glad it helped. You might want to look at this thread if you are stuck having to sign in and don't want to be.
