Login Probs

Hi there.
I don't know what's happened however everytime I visit a forum / site and some email accounts I have to continuously logon even though I have indicated otherwise.
Any help would be appreciated
I am running XP Pro SP3 / IE 8.000.600

And make sure the slider is set to medium.

Tried that and it didn't work Thank' you for that anyway
Deleted cookies ..re-entered all passwords and it's still the same.
Guess I'll have to live with it.

Do you use CCleaner at all? because these types of programs clear your cookies with every clean up. Also, check if IE has InPrivate browsing turned on (to the left of the address, is there a big blue tab with InPrivate browsing written on it?)

 

Tools >> internet options >> Security >> custom level >> scroll down to "user data persisitance" and make sure "enable" is selected.

Then.........

Tools >> internet options >> privacy >> advanced >> select... "override auto cookie hanling" and "always allow session cookies" and make sure first and third party cookies are set to "accept.

Btw , have you tried using Firefox? it is a much beter browser than IE.

Looks like Q and I have been covering some of the same ground

First, check that your system date is set correctly.

Second, go to Tools > Internet Options > Privacy > Advanced and tick the "Override Cookie Handling" box - tick "Always Allow Session Cookies". Test - may require a reboot or restart of IE.

Check that you have all updates for IE installed, KB969497 and KB955430 may be implicated in this scenario.

Ensure you have the latest version of Java.

@ Groinsh0t, I've never seen CCleaner cause this, in fact, problems caused by CCleaner are very rare indeed. Other Apps of the reg-cleaning type are much more risky IMHO.

Us Taffy's get everywhere eh?
Tried everything still the same though...No option but to carry out a "Restore"
The culprit was Trusteer "Rapport".
They advised me to RESTORE....

Hmm, I'm running Rapport here too, no problems as yet but I use Firefox 98% of the time. I'm glad you've tracked down the culprit but their support sounds pretty basic.




<sneaks away to quietly test IE8 + Rapport, check System Restore is still working ... >

 

Prior to the "Restore solution" they said if acomplete uninstall was carried out the problem should be removed...This was not the case..rolleyes
