I've tried everything I know of to get rid of it but with my limited XP experience I haven't had an success at it. Please help with the following if possible:

Upon powering up XP there is a screen where you enter your username and password. I am wanting to bypass this login screen as I haven't assigned a password - want it to go directly through. Please, any help will be much appreciated!

Go to Control Panel > User Accounts > Change the way users log on to this computer > Choose the "Use the Welcome Screen" Option

If you are the only user on the computer you will go directly through.

Wouldn't until you have set up your own and tested it ...you need two accounts with admin rights ....

Leave the password line empty and hit O.K.

I wish it was that easy, tried it but to no avail. Would MS have a default password? Isn't there a bypass for formating?

    Yes
Boot from CD, run Windows setup.
Formating, You will loose all data

What do you want to do
    Format?
If you format, you'll be reinstalling Windows
    Bypass login screen?

You can use a free utility to Blank out or reset the password

Thanks for the replies. I've just managed to reinstall XP. I've lost everything so here I go re-installing all the software again.

If you install MS .Net Framework you'll end up with password login again, then just use the link I posted for "Kill The .Net Login"

    Good luck:)
any prob's just post em, someone will help
