I have a Logitech Cordless MX 610 laser mouse. It has a button on it which opens email (outlook). I hate this button. i accidentally hit it during a game, and ta-daa! mass lag, usually i am dropped from online games. The only way to prevent this is to run Set Point, the Logitech software. unfortunately, this annoying program adjusts my mouse movespeed (from the default that i like) and also takes up a massive 20MB Commit Charge simply to ensure that the mouse does what i tell it.

now, i have 256mb ram on my computer, and about 80 of that goes to running a secure program that must stay running all the time (dont ask). That leaves me about 160MB for everything else. other processes use up an additional 50MB or so, leaving me with 110MB for games. the extra 20MB would help alot.

so.... is there any way to disable this feature without running the set point software?

Sell that mouse to your neighbor, get new mouse and more ram, and have fun with your pc, laugh from time to time thinking about your neighbor. ed
