Logitech wireless LX310 Keyboard won't work

So I've been using the Logitech wireless LX310 Keyboard/Mouse combo successfully for a few months now (XP SP3). Both were working fine. However, I recently moved and when I tried to use them again, only he mouse works.

I'm pretty sure the issue revolves around the fact that I'm now using a wireless internet connection that is on channel 1, which is also the channel that my keyboard is on. However, I cannot find a way to reset or manually change the channel that the keyboard is on.

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the Logitech software and also trying different USB ports, removing the keyboard/mouse batteries, and reseting the wireless with the buttons on the receiver, mouse, and keyboard as well. But all to no avail.

Does anyone have any ideas how to change the broadcasting keyboard channel?

Most Logitechs have a reset. My model resets when you turn the device off, then squeeze the receiver about in the middle, then turn it on within thirty seconds. You need to check your manual for details.

 

While the manual wasn't helpful in this particular case, the tech support guy revealed to me on the phone that holding down the receiver button for 10 seconds initiated the reset.

For the record, the channel of the keyboard wasn't conflicting with my wireless internet connection. I was unaware that keyboards transmit at a 27Mhz signal which is obviously not going to interfere with a wireless internet connection.

In the end the problem was a AAA battery which had begun to corrode slightly even though the batteries themselves were still technically "good." Go figure.

So the moral of the story is...even if you are SURE your batteries are good, go place some brand new ones in anyway for testing.
