I have Logitech X-530 5.1 speakers. Every 10 minutes, my front speaker randomly stops working or the volume decreases so much that it is near impossible to hear. More often than not, all the speakers seem to swap outputs - right front outputting as left rear, center changes to subwoofer, left front changes to right front etcccc

The problem is resolved when I open my audio setup (http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/1871/pci3daudiokm3.png) and set it to use only 4 speakers, then back to use all 6. But this gets annoying having to do it every 10 minutes or so.. is there anything I can do to fix this permanently?

What sound card are you using?

Also, go into sound settings in control panel, and in speaker settings ensure that you have 5.1 speakers selected.

I have discovered that my problem of the sound coming through the wrong channels happens quite often when I press the Back/Forward buttons in firefox.
