Brand new laptop and keep getting an error message when starting. Says windows cannot access the specified device, file, path. It shows the address C:\program files\IBM ThinkVantage\Common\Logger\logmon.exe. Any ideas? I followed a previous forums advice and downloaded all sorts of spyware removal tools including CounterSpy. The runkeys file produced nothing and the newfiles.txt is attached. I have a screenshot of the error message but it says size is to big for the forum. Many Thanks!

    Welcome to Majrorgeeks!

This is not malware. It is a file for your IBM PC that is missing. I'm not sure if you need this file or not; however I'm moving this to the Software Forum where you can get more input from other people possibly using an IBM PC.

Believe it has to do with Resource and Recovery program. If you have an alternate method of doing backups, you can remove the program.

To get rid of the message remove the startup entry in the registry . To do this, tape msconfig, then choose startup and uncheck logmon.exe
