Logs are attached for review since I've been here before over the last several years and familiar with the process.
Issue: Received multiple emails, though marked as spam, that claim to have exploited my home router and accessed this machine and possibly another at a remote location. The email claims to have access to my files and that the machine(s) have installed malware that cannot be removed. I can access my files like normal at this time though the emails claim that my threat is they can email things to my contacts as if it were me and attach anything they like with no trace to them. They are asking for just over $500 US in BC or other digital currency to prevent this. I am just being cautious and would like the logs to be reviewed on both machines.

My router FW has been updated as of this posting and prior FW history shows potential exploits through 2018 in at least three FW versions since this most recent one I installed.

    Thanks in advance

It is just a scam. If you are worried, I suggest you change your router password. Your logs a clean.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    3. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have re-enabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    4. Now go to the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 or 10 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    5. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    6. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

I kinda figured it was bogus, but it prompted me to audit my LAN and make some changes and updates. As always you and the others I have had the pleasure of interacting with here at the MG Forum have proven the value of great people fighting the good fight against blackhats. Until next time..... Jedi TimW.... Many Thanks!
