Looking At Buying A DVD Burner.....Please Help!

    I am intrested in buying a dvd burner for my computer...

    I Would like one that can burn a VCD/SVCD onto a DVD
    right now i burn dvd movies as VCD and i have to split them onto 2 CD-Rs
    all i want is to burn a whole movie on 1 dvd.....what kind do u guys sugest i get?

    also what is DVD+ and DVD- ?

    i don't think i need a duel layer burner..
    and what kind of DVDs (DVDRs) do u guys sugest i should buy..is there a better cheaper brand??

    You can buy any DVD burner for what you want. They can all burn VCD's and SVCD's just fine. It's really the software you use with the burner that controls what you can burn. Not the burner itself.

    As for DVD- and DVD+, they are competing formats. There are some diffrences but for the consumer all it really does is add confusion. Either one works just fine. Usually buying the + DVD's is a little cheaper though. I think most people just try to get a DVD+/- burner so that they can use either format and never worry about it.

    I don't really have a brand to suggest. I personally just wait till I see a sale and pick up DVD's when there at 25 cents each and they've always worked. I've used a few diffrent brands and never had a problem.
