looking for a coupleof programs need some help

first I'm looking for a replacement for ms office, first i have tried Open office but for what i need it for it will not work , i need to use macros from ms office and they will not work, i have to edit a bunch of stuff, and i don't have the time for that. so i have been looking at ms works and valusoft office suite 2006, does anyone know what word processor office suite 2006 uses, because i know ms works uses an older version or word. i'm not looking to spend over $50

ok next i'm looking for a media player that replaces quicktime and realplayer, i am not against WMP but i don't want real or quciktime, anyone got any ideas?
