What kind of errors? If you have any problems with Windows: Microsoft Fixit Center

If you are looking for potential unspecified "registry errors"; don't. If you are not getting any specific errors or problems, leave the registry alone. "Registry cleaners" most likely do more damage than good.

I am reminded of the old saw "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", which as the posters before have said, is particularly true of the registry.

That said, some software to tweak/optimize and fix unseen errors is good practice. http://majorgeeks.com/Advanced_SystemCare_6_Beta_3.0_0928_d6690.html works well in my experience as does http://www.majorgeeks.com/CCleaner_Standard_d5125.html however I would leave the registry alone. IF you really feel compelled to mess with the registry, back it up first, chances are you will need to restore it if you don't know what you're doing. And no offense, but people who ask about these things generally don't...

 

Maybe the best Scan and Fix freebie is chkdsk /F or
C: > Properties > Tools > Error checking > Check Now > Automatically fix .....
