Are there any legitimate tv and movie download sites, either free or paid?

I'm looking to find some older tv shows and movies that I can burn to dvd, but don't want to do anything illegal.

A quick google turns up many legal downloads sites
Many offer to watch now or download to view latter; as far as I'm concerned If it allows you to download for latter use, I don't see the harm in burning to dvd for PERSONAL USE.

Do you feel these are safe sites Sgt. Tibbs?

I was amazed I watched several episodes of "Kung Fu" & "Night Stalker", I hadn't seen for over 25 years on youtube, over the weekend!

Those are the US and Canadian rating system sites. Is there a reason you ask about the safety of the site?

Btw, WOT rating is poor for them which has to do with people having an issue on them cracking down on piracy, so it seems they've used the WOT rating system as a way of taking their anger out.

I use Amazon to stream tv shows: http://www.amazon.com/Video-On-Demand/b/ref=sa_menu_atv2?ie=UTF8&node=16261631 I don't think you can burn them, but you can play them over and over.

lol @ aatony...you're going to make me go blind with that blue writing. LOL;) (Well, then you went and switched it to a darker blue)

You misunderstood me. I was actually asking if there was a reason you were asking, which you gave. I've never tried the site and probably wouldn't have questioned it since it's an official rating site. I don't think there was any disrespect towards Tibbs by asking, nor do I think she'd take it that way.

Those are the sites linked from my international union's website as safe for our members to legally download movies and TV shows without completely screwing over our brothers' and sisters' pension plans, which is what illegal downloading of intellectual content does.

If our IT department says they're fine, then they're fine. And no, I wasn't offended at all! :)

This site hosts torrents for movies and TV shows which have slipped into the public domain and have no copyright restrictions. Most of them are old, perhaps older than you intended.
