    Okay,
I think my problem is my motherboard. (I've had various threads about my lagg with thing, mine craft especially)It didn't work with my on board NIC, the physical NIC card I installed, or a wireless dongle I tried.

When I tore my computer up by the VGA cable I think I may have damaged the motherboard. So, I was just going to replace it. I have no clue where to start because I wasn't going to go with a Dell branded motherboard. (Think Foxconn, are a decent Dell off brand replacements, if I recall correctly)
    Where do I start?
My system is a Dell XPS 410.

    Thanks for any advice.

I couldn't find where you were telling me to look falcon, so I went with Speccy and this is what it tells me about my motherboard.

    HI Spock:

Actually Foxconn produces motherboards for Dell, so they are indeed Dell original OEM parts. Based on the issues you are presenting, it seems as if your motherboard does need to be replaced. Besides a damaged VGA port, as you mentioned, a replacement board will solve the NIC and other component related failures. This is a common issue with the XPS 410's that I have worked on recently. You are in good hands, though, if you know how to replace the board yourself you can save some money because the boards are going for around $50 and up, which is not bad. They are fairly easy to replace, as with most Dell systems, the board sits on top of a tray which can be easily removed from it's case without removing any screws. Same goes for the optical and hard drives. If you need anything else, do let me know.

    Regards,

    Chris

    Hi Chris,
    Thank you for the reply.
I borrowed a computer from a friend and tried the game, and the same issue is present. So, it was not the NIC, we now have that machine set up as a game server and it works great for the ones that can use it.
