So i built my pc about 10 years ago and have done some upgrades on it from time to time but now i need a new case. I want to get a case with as many fans i can on it with as much air flow as possible so i can max the air cooling. The fans on this case have failed and now im in the market for another case that has more fans on it than case. I dont care about noise. I was thinking maybe having a fan controller that i can plug directly into my PSU. I have a full tower pc and mobo and i want another full tower. Here are the specs of my pc:

    windows 7 pro operating system
    asus p6t v2 mother board
    core i7 920 cpu
    24 gigs of ram
coarsair 1000 watt modular power supply
    Nivida MSI geforce rtx 2060

My budget for the case is around 200 dollars. I would be willing to consider a fan controller as well but i would need to see a range of prices first.

Well, that is an extremely generous budget.

I know you said full tower, but seriously, almost nobody needs a full tower. Full towers are when you have 8 or more drives and many expansion cards, or when you need to house an EATX motherboard (though many mid towers are big enough to support EATX too). Full towers are typically used for servers and stuck in a closet somewhere.

A quality mid-tower case will still support 6 or more drives, multiple expansion cards, full ATX motherboards, lots of fan and alternative cooling options, and still provide lots of room to see what you are doing. The primary difference between a quality mid tower and a full tower is height. Width and depth are the same. There are smaller mid-towers of course, but I'm not talking about them.

I recommend you look at the Fractal Design offerings - in particular the "flag ship" Define R6. FD cases are extremely well designed and have excellent construction quality. It is wide enough to support any tall air CPU cooler. It comes with 3 x 140mm fans and has easy access, removable and washable air filters. It also supports adding several more fans - up to 9! It does not have a fan controller per se. But it does have a powered PWM fan hub. This lets the motherboard fan controller feature control up to 4 fans using just one motherboard fan header. Very nice.

You say you don't care about noise, but I think you should. Maybe not for today, but perhaps down the road. The drone of constant fan noise can wear on us (humans). The R6 addresses this by including sound deadening lining inside the case, plus Fractal Design fans are especially quiet.

If you need an actual fan controller, the previous top of the line, R5 has a 3-speed controller, or you can always add your own the R6.

My philosophy has always been a quality case (and PSU) form the foundation for a solid PC platform that will provide years of support through multiple, evolving upgrades. My R4 (the predecessor to the R5) is, by far, the best case I have ever owned (and I used to go for full towers too).

If you are stuck on getting a full tower, FD has the Define XL R2.

Ty for the reply. So I might just go with the XL R2 it does look like it might fit my needs. Plus i need plenty of room because the last graphics card i had stuck into the hard drive case it was so long. Sadly it was the victim of my overheating problem and died. Luckly i had a friend who had a card they could not get rid of. Hence the card i put in my specs.

I understand that - but note again, a tower case does not always imply greater width and depth, only height. So a good mid case will support very long graphics cards too. The R6, for example, supports graphics cards up to 440mm in length. Yes, XL R2 supports 480mm, but not many cards are that long.

You did not specify the specific graphics card. Note that Newegg sells at least 9 different MSI GeForce RTX 2060 models, and some are longer than the others. As seen here, from only 205mm up to 270mm. So your card would easily fit in a mid tower that is considerably smaller than the R6.

Why am I pushing mid towers? Because full towers are just way too big without providing any real advantage. And even a case equipped with the best air filters will eventually get full of dust. Lugging a big, awkward and heavy full tower case around is a real PITA and back! There is just absolutely nothing to suggest a full tower is better in any way than a mid tower - except in a server room.

Do some research and look at the width and depth/length of the cases you are considering. Width will take care of even the tallest CPU coolers. Depth will take care of the longest graphics cards. All height gives you is support for more drives. Do you need support for 9 or more drives?

Most of our builds in the last couple of years have been with mid tower Fractal Designs and none of our clients have been disappointed. Many have gone with one of the Meshify models and are very happy with them. And as computer assemblers, so are we. It too will support your graphics card.

I like FDs, but there certainly are other quality case makers.

well im not moving this PC. It stays in one place. Also iirc when i built this pc the mobo i got said it was for a full tower. :)

Nah! It doesn't work that way.

As seen here, the P6T V2 is an "ATX Form Factor" board. Understand the ATX Form Factor "standard" is the industry standard all motherboard, case, power supply, drive, and card makers have agreed to abide by if they want their products to be compatible physically and electrically. That means shapes and sizes, screw holes, connectors, voltages and more all must meet the same ATX standard.

This ATX standard is what allows us consumers to put an "ASUS" motherboard into a "Fractal Design" case along with an "MSI" graphics card and power them with an "EVGA" power supply to run "Windows" from our "Samsung" SSD - then next year, if we choose, swap in a "Gigabyte" motherboard, "XFX" graphics card, and "Seasonic" power supply with a "WD" SSD and know they will still fit, connect, and work.

Since your motherboard is an ATX board, that means it will fit inside "all" mid-tower ATX cases. The ATX standard ensures that.
I hear you but eventually, enough dust, dirt, dander, hair, microscopic critters, and the microscopic droppings those critters leave behind will sneak in past your air filters and through every other crack and port to create a layer of heat-trapping dust inside that needs to be cleaned out - even in the best cases. This cleaning is best done by lugging the computer outside and blasting it out with compressed air.

If you have kids and/or pets running around stirring up dust, you may have to do this once or twice a year. Breaking down and lugging around a mid-tower is a lot easier on the back and arms than lugging around a big, heavy, awkward full tower case.

It is pretty clear you are stuck on getting a full tower case - and that's fine as long as you don't think you need one. You don't! Not unless you plan on installing 10 or more drives inside.
