looking for a new video card

Hello,
I have been looking for a new video card,,a cheap one not one that costs as much as a new tower.The one i have now doesnt work with most games or programs cause its so old(S3 Graphics ProSavage Gateway).looking for one is giving me headaches,,the ones gateway says will work is ATLFIREGL 128mbs,,that costs a fortune,,this is my system info:

AMD Athlon(tm) Processor 1200 MHz
memory 367mbs
mainboard microstar MS-6389

Graphics:
plug and play monitor
S3 Graphics ProSavage gateway(video card)
Mode 800x600 with 32 bit color depth
Windows XP Home

can ya help me out on a cheaper video card

 

a new tower? meaning around $100 dollars right? well you can get good graphic cards with 100 bucks. Most wide known ones are GeForce FX 5500 which is $99.99 at bestbuy, but other places probably have it cheaper. also ATI Radeon 9250 is at the same price, and they are very good.

And I'm using GeForce FX 5200 and it works awesome, FX 5500 probably will be much better, since i get a "perfect" gaming experience, i hope this helps somehow.

edit: oh i've misunderstood. you mean under $100 dollars.. hmmm.... i got a very good one you can use. its GeForce MX 4400 (remember its based off GeForce 2) its only like 40 bucks at walmart and my 2nd computer has it, also its very very good with no lagging or choppy graphics. good luck on your video card shopping

In alseriousness...do you have an AGP 2/4x slot on your motherboard?
