I've never seen anything like this before, and no, I dont have the knowledge to make my own database...so, here is what I am looking for.

I need an application that I can use to store troubleshooting information. For example, I have methods for fixing corrupt user accounts in Vista. So, I'd like to be able to store that within a program, be able to classify it per OS, and a search function wouldnt be bad either.

Has anyone seen anything remotely similar to this? Thats...free? :D

The database part of Open Office should suit.

    www.openoffice.org

perhaps you can also get it from MG

I use Excel for something similar. PM me if you wish, and I can forward samples. Bazza

Or you could just put it all on a flash drive to take with you ....sort it by OS ...keep portable apps and install .exe's on it ....not sure what you are trying to do ...but then...you're always a mystery.:)

OneNote "looks" like it would work. I really don't have much experience using it, gonna spend some time with it this week. Lot of good info out there on it.

You guy's probably already have it figured out :D

It's 1am and I couldn't sleep. reading some old PCUtilities mags, I came across WikidPad.

    http://www.jhorman.org/wikidPad/
I've just downloaded it and haven't tried it, as yet.
It may give you another option.
And to others who do not have MS One Note, it maybe a free alternative.

    Off to bed now,:D Bazza

Anyone with copies of PC Utilities mag, will find a 4 star review in edition #83, p49.

    To quote from the review:

Well worth experimenting with if you have lots of text files, about tips and tweaks, etc., IMO. Bazza

    Thanks for the feedback.:cool
I'd be really interested in your thoughts when you get further into it.
I haven't tried it yet, but will do so later this week.
I want to combine all my tips and tweaks, in various documents, into one, if possible, with extended search facilities, etc.

I've found a simpler (I hope) one, called Zulupad, from
    http://www.gersic.com/zulupad/ from PCUtilities mag, #79, p39.

    ...
I think I'll give this one a go first, before throwing myself into WikidPad.:D
