Looking for an exceptional HDTV tuner card!

Title pretty much says it all. Only constraint is that it has to be PCI, because I don't have PCI-E.


I'm looking for a tuner card that will capture a digital HD signal and display as good as if it were going straight to the TV. I don't know if this is asking too much. A lot of the cards I've looked at said the image quality was on par with youtube. That is entirely unacceptable. I want something that will give me a near flawless 1080 picture. Preferably with dual tuners so I can record one thing and watch something else at the same time.


I'll probably have it hooked to charter digital cable and a digital antenna at the same time if possible.

 

Wow... that is going to be tough. PCI is years out of date, my friend.

 

yeah.. I was looking and it looks like at least 75% of the newer cards are PCI-E. The thing is, I getting ready to update my system and it should still be good for a few years. Only thing is I don't have any PCI-E support and the only thing I want for the upgrade that is an issue is a tuner card.

 

What about some of the USB options?


The reviews I've seen for the "OnAir USB HDTV GT" sound pretty good, but I haven't seen anything about what the image quality is..

 

Anyone have experience with some of the newer USB HDTV tuners?
