At home, downloading a torrent is quick and painless. At this university, the connection is forcibly closed by the network as soon as the program even opens, resulting in little to no downloading capabilities.

How do I bypass this? My one guess is to alter the digital signature of uTorrent in order to trick the network into allowing the program to access the internet. Anyone have any ideas as to how to either a) alter the digital signature or b) find another way to bypass this torrent-program targeting mechanism?

No, we wont help you try to get around campus security, and its not worth it. Download your torrents at your place/with your bandwidth.

I figured that would be the response I receive, seeing as I'm just another college student looking to rebel against the cost of music and movies, right?

I actually only use torrenting to download unlicensed episodes of shows aired in other countries to keep myself from being bored. I would never violate a law of such caliber.

However, I understand your position, especially regarding the use of another institution's bandwidth for my own intent. I won't continue this request for assistance. Thanks for the hasty response, though =)
