Looking For Free/cheap Web Hosting.

Hey guys! I need a web hosting site and domain name but I'm on a very limited income.( I searched and found several threads with suggestions but they are several years old.) Does anyone have any sites that they can recommend? Thanks in advance!

 

I am on Go Daddy (22 years) and they can be really cheap if you keep your eye out for one of their super special promotions. The super specials only seem to happen for 24 or 48 hours once or twice a year. Usually they have a really cheap price for the first year or maybe two and if you renew then it reverts to their normal pricing. Compared to Australian hosts Go Daddy is about 50% cheaper for hosting and for domain names about 75% cheaper.
The only problem I see with Go Daddy is their endless self promotion so add an email filter
I don't know if this info is helpful as there are probably cheaper solutions out there but are the cheap sites reliable?
Reliability wise since I signed up with Go Daddy in 2001 they have had 100% uptime and access is very fast

Please search for reviews on other sites before you spend any $$$. If a site is cheap but not reliable, you are wasting your money.

 

I don't have my own web page, but I use two sourceforge.net sites to host nearly all of my software. Maybe I'll try one of the listed soon.

 

You should try Hostinger.com. I've been with them for the last 5 years and I find them to be the best, cheapest, and most reliable web hosts.

They also have a very modern interface to get your website going real fast. Their support is also outstanding.
