Selling 3 year old Toshiba that's just been replaced with a shiny new Dell - - and want to wipe the Toshiba hard drive (which has lots of financial data on it) and do a factory restore afterward. Is it possible to use Dban and then set the computer back up with the Toshiba Recovery CD? If so, then just want to make sure I understand the procedure:

    1. Download Dban 1.0.07 (there's a 2.0 but it isn't an ISO file - - so should I use 1.0?)
    2. Make CD just as you would any other CD (CDBurnerXP okay)?
    3. Reboot machine with Dban in CD drive.
    4. It does its thing.
    5. Reboot with Toshiba factory restore CD in drive.
    6. It does its thing.
    7. All done and ready for sale?

Thanks for any advice - - I'm a total non-techie as my user name implies, so I need lots of details with any instructions, please.

    Thanks again!

    Hi and Welcome to Majorgeeks

Yes DBAn 2.0 is while a production ready version is still classed as beta, but within the ZIP file it still has an ISO of version 2,0 for you to burn to CD/DVD or yes you could use 1.07 and good choice of burner application ( do like CDBurnerXP myself ), can also use this freebie to burn ISOs IMGBurn and your steps are fine, no real difference to what I would do.

Maybe worth running the boot and nuke procedure twice, but not normally needed.
