Alright. I need to find some software that will allow me to type and format and then export to HTML. I can't use MS-Office word/excel/publisher/ppt because of their proprietary MSO style sheets that they use. This has to be w3c compliant. I need the ability to draw tables etc. I've already considered Front Page as an option, but am looking for others.

    OR

If anyone has any clue how to disable MSO formatting and use standard HTML/CSS in the other office products (word, excel, ppt, publisher*) then that would be ideal.

Software must not be too in depth. I want to type, and then export to HTML.

Don't ask why I need it.. I just need it :)

    Thanks!

[afterthought] Does open office do this?

[xflat, this has nothing to do with the other stuff I'm doing. This is for another client/friend of mine:D]

There's such a thing as a w3c compliant one? I've never seen one. Word, front page, dreamwweaver, etc.. do WYSIWYG stuff but one that actually produces W3C compliant code i've yet to see. I've tried validating stuff from the above mentioned programs and they don't produce valid code, nor do they produce anything in the way of neat or optimized code.

I'm pretty sure if you need W3C compliant html you need to use something like wordpad.

Although if I recall correctly Open Office saves everything in XML files. Which you could with very few edits use online as a webpage. Although i'm fairly certain it has a save as html feature as well. I'm not 100% though.

Tried abi word today.. it put a "this HTML output created by " tag in it.. Though not a problem for many, I'm dealing with the not so computer savvy. Open office's Writer does export to HTML and the process is similar to what he would do in Word. With that, I think I have my solution and will pursue that.

    Thanks again! :
