    Hi Bern
My version will encrypt files AND folders version 5.7.0. You should give it a try as it may well suit you :)

the one on this site is version 5.6.6. does it also lock folders?
if it does not, where do i get version 5.7.0? is it also free?
one more thing...does it have any restrictions? coz i found some good softwares on the net but they were sharewares and could only protect a certain number of files/folders.

    Hi Psique :)
The current version is 5.6.63 and not 5.7 Sorry for the error on my part. The answer to your question is that it is both shareware and freeware and it depends on what type of files and folders you wish to lock as to weather it will be suitable for your needs

    Regards

ooh...alright. is there like a trial period before it expires?
i actually wanna lock only one folder which is about 45MB in size. will the freeware support it? any other restrictions for the freeware?
    thanks again.
    :)

    Hi Psique :)
If you could let me have the name of the folder you wish to lock. I will then be able to tell you if the freeware version supports it. There is no time limit BTW

You might consider dsCrypt 1.0 by DS Software @ freezip.cjb.net. It uses an advanced encryption algorithm with password protection - up to 32 characters. Drag & drop process & file size is only 25kb. It's free & very user friendly. Just don't forget your password or you will not be able to access the file again. Test it on an unimportant file first & recommend making a backup on removable media just to be safe rather than sorry.

    Good luck!

    nick,
it's a personal folder actually. there are jpegs, mpegs, pdfs and word docs...and the current size is around 45MB. i was just wondering...how does the name matter anyway?

    Hi Psique :)
That should be fine. The full version deals with all folders of the operating system but the freeware version has a few restrictions

    nick,
i checked out the website. i think i can do with the restrictions...coz i only wanna lock one folder. what do u think about encrypting? slim30097 recommended a software. it sounds easier with the drag and drop...considering that i only wanna lock i folder.

    Hi Psique :)
I would go with Win Guard Pro 2004 which is a very good piece of software. As for da chicken"s comment and AtAmAcA comment i would pay no attention to. Consider this thread now closed
