    Hello all

I wonder if anyone can help with some info.

I am looking for software for the following.

    1) Recover data from an Apple hard drive using my Windows Pc
    2) Recover data from my Nas drive via my Windows Pc
    3) Is it possible to Clone an external drive to another external drive.

    Any help would be great.

    Thanksrolleyes

You may take a look at Asoftech Data Recovery that I used last time.

But take note that free download does not save the recovered file to your computer.

Well, some more info would be helpful, but:

    1) Concerning the apple drive question, is the drive still in it's original computer? If so, is the computer failing to boot up to the OS, but will still POST? If the answer to these questions is yes, you could boot to a Linux Live-CD (Like Ubuntu, etc.), and see if you can access the harddrive that way. There may be something extra you need for Apple files, but it's worth a shot.

    2) When you say recover files from your NAS drive, what do you mean? Has the drive become corrupted or died? If it has stopped responding on the network it could be the external enclosure device that has issues and not the hard drive itself . . . how to proceed depends on what exactly your situation is. You could remove the hard drive and install it in your PC as a second drive; or put it in another external enclosure (from what you said in question 3 it seems you have others). Either method will work if the hard drive is still "alive". If the hard drive is kaput, then I'm unable to suggest an easy solution for file recovery.

    3) Yes, it is possible . . . but again, what are you trying to do exactly? What is the external drive being used for? If just files and such, why not just copy them from one to the other?

    You might look into clonezilla

I think it can do what you want . . . I've used clonezilla but not for exactly what you are trying to do. If the program can't serve there are others here that deal with cloning drives.
