LOOKING FOR SOME REALLY GOOD RPG's

My son is looking for some great RPG games, the real good shoot'em up bang bang stuff! I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions.

Online and play solo or together?
World of Warcraft - be careful what type server you get on, PVP is really hostile, Normal is, err, well, normal, Roleplaying is a bit tame at times. Not to be used if grades are an issue, this is a big time sink.
Priston Tale - So cute it hurts and it is free to lvl 39!
Anarchy Online - a few minor bugs, good pace
Diablo2 - short games for when you only have half an hour, not a lot of plot

Play with your son? Best with a friend or two on a LAN
Never Winter Nights - Set up a third computer as a server
Dungeon Siege - simple and more shooter than story, online is not too bad

Morrowind - takes a LONG time and well worth it
Gothic II - hard to find, good fight tactics

And yes, some of my suggestions are old. But I still play them because they are "really good RPG's" and were not listed before. My favorites are the single player Half Life, Doom3, and Unreal2 - but they do not last forever.
