Looking to buy a new monitor..

About a year ago I upgraded to a Samsung XL2370, which for the most part I have been pleased with. Really my biggest complaint with this monitor is that its native resolution is 1920x1080. I would prefer a resolution of 1920x1200 because I like the 16:10 aspect ratio better.


Honestly, I wouldn't be looking to replace it so soon, but about eight months ago my wife got mad and threw it on the ground. Ever since then the monitor has been randomly turning off. At first it was no big deal, I just have to unplug it, plug it back in and it would come back on. However now it has been turning itself off several times a day, sometimes ten or fifteen times in five minutes, and now it is losing all of its calibration settings randomly as well.



I am a photographer, so accurate color display is top of the list in what I'm looking for in a monitor. I am also an avid gamer, which, monitor wise kind of contradicts the photography side of things. So really, I'm looking for a well rounded monitor, at least 23" in size, with a native resolution of 1920x1200 or greater.



I'm having a hard time finding a decent selection of monitors with the 16:10 aspect ratio I'm looking for. The main one I'm looking at right now is the ASUS PA246Q, which has somewhat mixed reviews.

 

Acer G24 - 1920x1200 24" retails at around £400
Fantastic monitor which is HD capable. Great response time and a decent contrast ratio.

 

Anyone else?

 

I'm currently using two Samsung 245bw. I'm content with them. They are 1920x1200. I'll eventually upgrade to this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824260028 or something similar 2560 x 1600. One for now, since they are so expensive.
