loose internet connection edimax router

Hi all
Thought i would ask here before i rip into someone at my ISP tomorrow

I have had a Edimax AR-7266WNA router. For the last 2 months or so i keep loosing my connection randomly, it can happen every other minute like at the time of writing, it can happen once or twice a night, it can happen every other day... The connection will just drop, and then it reconnects its self automatically as if someone has just switched it off and on again.

Windows 7 dosnt pick any problems up when they icon gets the yellow ! mark because it reconnects before windows finishes its troubleshooting routine, but as someone who plays online games a lot, you can imagine this is very VERY frustrating, especially like tonight when its happened 6 times in 20 mins...

Ive brought this up with my ISP, Karoo, but all they've said is make sure all phone lines in the house have filters on them, which they do. Only thing that is troubling me is i have my own separate internet connection downstairs on a different telephone line, to that of my parents upstairs, now as far as my brother tells me, he dosnt experience any problems and their on an older internet package then myself.

Any advice guys... i dont want to go mad tomorrow with someone on the live chat and it turns out to be something ive not done...
