    Hello everyone,

I am having a problem with my HP PC running Win 7 Home Premium not signing on to my wireless modem/router upon logging on. I am using a Realtek adapter that had been working on the same machine up to now. This is happening with all user accounts.

I have no clue what has changed to cause this to happen. The only change made was to add an external drive and set up and backup my files and doing a drive image. It does not make sense to me that this has any bearing on this problem but thought I should mention it.

I have seen this problem brought up on many google searches but have found no workable suggestion. I have also found many requests didn't even get a response to them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi

Not heard of that issue before with Wifi logging you off and shutting the PC down, but things I would try are reinstalling the Chipset driver and Wireless driver for your HP model (Do install the Chipset first and reboot then the Wireless).

Boot into Safe Mode and choose Safe Mode with Networking and see if you get the same issue.

Thanks DavidGP after going back into reload my driver I believe I figured out my problem. The driver is for XP or Vista I am running Win7 home. Now my problem is that HP doesn't seem to make a driver for a Compaq Presario SR1920LA Desktop PC. I never gave it a thought that I upgraded the system to Win7 from XP. That is why it worked before I upgraded, I didn't even give that a thought.

This is the driver I had installed http://tinyurl.com/moyn2ma.

Does anyone have an idea as to how to get a driver for the machine?

Hello DavidGP I tried your suggestion several times sadly to no avail. I contacted ARGUS to see if it might be a motherboard problem it is not. I contacted HP regarding a driver that would work with Win7 what a joke. I never let a tech person other than a very good friend go into my machines remotely. I decided this was a complete reformat and reinstall so no tweaks had been made yet to let a HP tech look at the problem. Now mind you I only purchase HP machines "up till possibly now". This tech I use the term very loosely went in and looked around for about 15 minutes. He did everything I had tried still to no avail. The he went in and pulled up all of my machines error codes warning etc. and told me that my machine was corrupted. Yea OK! When I asked him how this is possible he went on to tell me that because the motherboard and components were old that they held corrupted attributes. Now I am not a genius but I knew he was blowing smoke. He then precedes to tell me that for $149.00 a tech could take over an correct all of these "problems for me and "possibly" get the driver working. "Possibly" what! As I proceeded to tell just what I thought about his diagnose he hung up me. He hung up on me! It is a very good thing I couldn't climb through the phone line to India.

This is the first time I have had HP try to rip me off for a bogus repair. It had better be the last or I will be looking for a new vendor in a heartbeat.

If anyone has another idea please let me know as I would really appreciate not having to inter my SSID # every time someone signs in.

    Have a Blessed weekend
