    I am intermitently losing connection to the internet with my PC. It seems to happen after being connected to the net for around 5 minutes or so although it varies. Disconnecting the lead from the switch and then reconnecting normally gets things going again. It runs XP SP3 and is wired to a network switch. I have another PC connected to the same switch and works fine. I have updated the driver for the network adaptor and turned of power saving management. Any help much appreciated.

    First unplug both ends of the cable to the dodgy pc and reconnect;
    then swap the cables between the working pc and the dodgy one.
    If this doesn't help try changing ports on the switch.

    This will localise the issue to the pc, port or cable.

    Post back with the results.

    Installed new network card and problem solved. Thanks to all that took the time to view.

    Glad you got it fixed, network cards do fail from time to time.

    Thanks for the feedback.
