Lost Archive Folders in OUTLOOK

Let me just say I hate OUTLOOK 2002, but my husband insists on using it because it synchs with his TREO and he stores his contacts on it, so if anyone has alternates so I can get him to use TB or anything else, I would love to know.

So for some reason, there were duplicats of his Archive Folders...very important stuff in there. I selected on of the sets and clicked "CLOSE ARCHIVE." It not only closed it, but hid it. I can't find it at all. It was then done with the other one as well as to find a fix - but no fix. So now we have NO archive folders and despite all my digging, I can't find them at all.

Please help!

I recently went thru an Outlook nightmare with a friend... using the Windows search, do a search for .pst and be sure to enable searching in hidden and system files and folders... .PST is the extension that Outlook tacks to the end of it's data files. Thanks so much. I was able to locate them via search, but I'm having the hardest time importing them. I just can't believe all of them disappeared because I clicked on "close archive"...it just doesn't make logical sense.

Right now, importing them all creates them as personal folders - not archives...so I have to and archive them all again. UGH!

Any ideas for programs to rid myself of OUTLOOK once and for all? The only selling point that has to be there is contacts and synching with a Treo.
