Cat's jumped out of a window, and we don't have a clue where he's gone. Heard a few very familiar meows earlier but now there's no response or anything from him, think he might be hurt.
O well... just have to wait I guess, unless any of you have any great tricks for finding pets???

Open all the doors at dinnertime and shake his food container. That's what we do to bring ours home.

    Good luck...

You guys just moved right? If so the cat maybe hiding close by, trying to figure out what's going on. Hope you find it. I've lost a couple in the past.

I agree with the others, he will be back. :D

We have to let our's out everyday to run around in the woods, she gets it out of her system I guess.

Our cat's have become quite firmiliar with the sound of a can opening, because that is what it sounds like when we open the "GOOD FOOD"...and then tap on the can with a spoon, and they will wake up from a hard sleep and come running like it was right around the corner!!! Ofcourse if your cat doesn't eat canned food, I don't guess that would work too well!!

And remember...when the cat does come back...It was because HE wanted to ...not because YOU wanted him to!!!! ;)

Keep us posted...I know it sucks!!!!

Forgive my ignorance:eek: , but how exactly does a cat get lost?

PS (I suffer from feline stupidity combined with feline ignorance. Not serious I hope!)

So glad your kitty came home Mcadam. Happened to me once. Mine, I think, got locked in someone's garden shed after a sunny day and then they didn't open it again until the next sunny day a few days later. She was soooooo hungry but so glad to be back home. I was sat in one evening with my other cat and kept wondering how he was miaowing without moving his mouth!!! Then I realised the sound was coming from the window, pulled back the drapes, and there she was!! :D

NB: I am not as stupid as I make myself out to be ;)

personally I wouldnt have two nicks on a forum as it would be very suspicious that you were trying to hide one persona ( plus IPs are logged )

Good deal on the return of your pussy (cat!), McA! I've had my one disapear for a while, but usually the ol' rapping on the can with the spoon flushes her out, LoL!

She's usually waiting in the driveway for me to come home, then runs down the driveway all excited, like a dog, ROFL!.

I believe you are correct. Cats never get lost, they are only exploring. Us humans who can't find "their" cat think they are simply lost. ;)

great that your cat came back. I didn't wanna say this earlier.... I live near the woods and have lost a cat to a coyote. One ran down the street and someone took it in, they claim they've had it their whole time living there (BS), and another we don't know what happened to him, but it's great to hear he/she came back because losing a pet and not knowing what happened really does suck.

Some may tend to wonder just how well you treat your cats! ;)

lol yah, I treat my cats great, just they are outdoor cats, and when they go out things tend to happen to them, but now my cat now is an indoor cat have had her for nearly 10 years.

i have the most amazing cat. not only does he have my dogs grovelling for his approval, but he catches rats. he is gentle with the humans and plays with the brain dead puppy. he used to bring in the rats, but i kept chasing him out with them. now he just brings the heads and/or tails. every morning i get up there are two or three rat heads on the dining room floor. i have had 'killer' cats before, but not ones that are so affectionate and tolerant. he is more useful than both my very 'special' dogs put together. i don't even have to buy him food. when i first got him, i bought cat food, which he would push off the counter for the dogs to eat, and then while they were occupied he would eat the dog food. now we don't buy food just for him, and the dogs sit patiently by him until he has had his fill. too cool.
