lost CD KEY

OK I hope I am doing this correctly. I am getting ready to reinstall My OS completely and has every thing I need but one, I have the disk for My photo shop CS but not the case and CD Key seems the daughter had lost it, any way is there a way to recover it KEY off My HD before I format it? any help would be greatfull thanks

 

I had a look around and their does not seem to be any programs that recover your photoshop cdkey.

If you want to go about it the legal way you can ring/e-mail Adobe and they will give you an address to send the cd and they will replace it with a new one with a new cdkey. But they will charge you a small amount for this.

 

Have you tried using anything like Belarc Advisor? I just downloaded and ran it...all my keys showed up in my results. If Belarc doesn't work for you maybe one of the other smiliar programs found here may help.

 

That Belarc Advisor program is awesome! It shows everything about the computer, including CD keys for XP & OfficeXP as well as others. It even lists all the hotfixes & verifies them too. A definite must to have, in my book.

 

or if you open photoshop and go to help --- > about, the CD key is listed there, just scribble it on a pad and use that when re-installing

 

I'm not at home at this time, but I can almost guarantee you that is not the CD key, but the product ID.

 

I personaly dont have photoshop but im pretty sure that they wouldnt show it in the About. As Adrynalyne said its usually the product Id that is kept here.

 

You should find the Key list somewhere in the registry.

 

hmmm, it is the cd key but it isn't the full thing. i just double checked it (photoshop cs) and it is everything but the last 4 numbers, the cd key is 24 #'s
