   We lost the d:\ drive and really need it back asap. We have a Win98, cpu: memory speed: 384mb, IE 6.0 SP1, DirectX 9.0b,Intel celerion-a 500mhz. I hope that is all of that info.
   We have a dvd player installed and a cd player but that was not affected. Overnite I taped a movie and in the morning the dvd player would not open and the movie is stuck and there is no d:\ drive.
   Can anyone help?

   The D Drive is the DVD player?
   
   Is the light on, on the front of the DVD drive and when you press eject does it attempt to open?
   
   One option, shutdown your PC and open it up and unplug the D Drive cables ( power and IDE cables ), then plug the cables back in again and reboot.... it is now seen in My Computer?
