Lost file associations

    Well - I think that is the problem.

    WinXPhome / AMD / regular updates.

    No shortcuts actually start anything. Double-click on anyprog.exe either does nothing or brings up a panel asking to select from a list or go to the web to select a program.

    Actually, IE works, OE works, Printers works, Control Panel works but no apps in there seem to work.

    I note that EXE is not amongst the file associations.

    Help greatly appreciated.

    OK - solved this immediate problem - HOW?

    Found the reference to www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.html

    Ran the re-associate files posted there and the correct programs run again when double-clicked.

    Thanks for that reference - works great!
