Right click My Computer > Manage. Double click Storage, double click Disk Management. Look thru the list of drives and see what the status is. If the drive's partition was recently messed with, the drive may need to be initialized or re-partitioned/re-formatted. Right click on the bold print where it says 'Disk 0' or 'Disk 1' (Disk 0 is drive C: ) and if it the choice 'Initialize' is listed, there's a real good chance that the drive needs partitioning/formatting... follow these steps, and if you can't get the drive working, post whatever Disk Mgmt tells you, and we'll try to get the drive working for ya'.... in the meantime, you might want to download and run the diagnostic from the drive maker's web site and see if the drive is healthy by running the extended/advanced tests....
