I can't believe this is as difficult as it's SEEMING to be!

I've run two scans which conflict (to a certain degree/extent), and when I open the case to see what's actually in here, it, again, is conflicting, rather, SHORT of (LACKING!?!) info.

I have no idea .,.. no clue at all where else to go for this EXACT, "matching" information?

    I need one (1) 2-GB stick.

    I wish to match:

    Frequency (frequencies?).

Timings (whatever the HECK they are/that is???).

And I believe the Voltage is 1.5v, based-on help I got from another person here.

Screen-shot attached is of what "IS" in this machine...

    Thanks in advance . . .

    Hi grc123,

Can you download and run Speccy from here

Save a log. Open it up remove your windows serial and attache it to a post. That should tell us what you need.

From the look of the pic you only have one slot? is your existing RAM broken or are you looking for an upgrade?

I remember your other thread but I think the mem I linked to was for a desktop rather than laptop.

Yes, you linked me to desktop RAM, and no, I have TWO slots...one has 2GB, the other will take 2 for a total of four...thank you VERY much, and I will run the speccy post back here asap ...

*EDIT* - I don't think I did it correctly ... I will try again..with a "LOG", oyu say...? That may take me a few extra minutes...I've been up for two days (never got sleep last night....) -please bear with me...please

Ok - is this what you need to see, please?

I don't see any of my info/data that I could BLOCK or erase...?

**EDIT** Not sure where to find an ini file, or whatever I'm looking for, please?***

I'm not "exactly" sure what I'm doing now...I opened the file location, and saved to an ".ini" file ...? Does this sound like "a start"...?

Now I have to "find" the .ini file - correct - and attach it...right?

Well, I accessed it as an admin (with a password), and I am sure I looked there earlier (cause where else WOULD one look??), but anyway, I have EVEN LESS options under file now, as an admin, than I had earlier??>

***EDIT*** I see (now) from the SPECCY "Summary" (which is actually the screenshot you captured for me/us!), that "533" IS listed (statically) as "THE Number".

Thank you very much...I only have one final (my God, I HOPE & PRAY!?!) question - believe it or not (!?!) - on the "Speed" (DRAM Frequencies)...

Though mine "hangs-around" in the "neighborhood" of "533", it actually fluctuates (I watched for a minute, and saw it go as HIGH as "545.xx", at one point) - is "533" the number I'm looking to match/purchase, please?

All other numbers concerned with this seem to be "fixed" (static), correct?

    Thanks again, and in advance,
    glenn . . .

Thank you again, much. Unfortunately, I'm not quite bright-enough (geeky-enough) to know if this is the exact product (stick of RAM displayed/shown here) that I should shop for, on the page-connected-with-the-link you were so kind to provide, or if there is another scan to run from that page (which doesn't seem to work when I try)?

In any event, thank you again, very much ~

SHHHHoot (or; aww SHHHHucks/shux - whatever...)

    Meant to add/say/ask:

I reckon the "S" that Hyundai or "HiJINX" or whomever my RAM manufacturer is, was put there for THEIR OWN BENEFIT (certainly not THIS customers!), and means absolutely nothing, again, as any sort of practical matter for a tech of any type, eh?

    Thanks again as always!

    Hi Glen,

What you need to look for is DDR3 PC10600 I believe you want a 204 pin SODIM.

I am trying to get my head around the AMD structure at the minute as it is much more complicated that the Intel one. AMD K10 does not have an FSB because the memory controller is integrated into the CPU this means that you have a separate memory bus and linkt to the South Bridge. K10 architechture allows you to control the two speeds independently by the use of dividers. The 533MHz is the speed that your memory bus is operating at not the speed of the memory. The numbers after the PC in the type govern the speed ie PC10600 runs at 1333MHz. I am not quite sure how the numbers are calculated at the minute but if you put into google "DDR3 PC10600 204pin SODIM" you will get what you need.:)

Wow...thanks again very much...really is very kind of you to take all this time/effort.

I suppose the "204-PIN" part of this equation is buried (mysteriously hah) in all the numbers - somewhere...somehow (??), but I sure hope that's the case (though Crucial's scan is "Guaranteed", so, "if" I buy from them, I'll be good-to-go. . . ).

OH! My point with that was: I sure would hate to have to COUNT THOSE 204 TINY pins, or "holes", in order to verify ~!~ ha.

I'm going shopping now - Thank you again - much!
