My daughter was doing something on my pc and some how changed the screensaver/desktop to the jungle theme. I went in and changed it, but the curser stayed jungle, with a monkey on it, so I went to control panel mouse pointers and selected a new pointer, but it keeps making the jungle sounds when I click on something. How do I get it to stop? These drums don't sound friendly!

ok well you goto the curser properties (forget what theyre called) in control panel and change that to default, same with the sound properties, you could also try going to add/remove in cp and removing the jungle theme (if its theyre).

went to control panel, mouse, and chose default, it changed the pointer, but those crickets and birds and drums remain. Went to sounds and multimedia, but couldn't figure anything out there. I'm going to bed, I'll try again tommorrow. I know it may sound like a small thing, but it's very annoying.

Rightio, I havn't messed with the sounds in xp but you should be able to easily change it back to default sounds.

alright, this aint funny anymore! I remember seeing something once that asked "play windows theme at startup?" Anyone know where that is? I'm using windows ME. I would really appreciate help with this, it's very annoying. When my pc starts up there's birds squeeling, crickets chirpping, drums beating etc. and eveytime I click on something it's a stupid sound. I went into the folder and deleted the jungle files, but now it's dead silence, like a walk in downtown Cherneyoble (sp?).I know one of you knows how to fix this. Please help, she says she doesn't know how she did this, so I don't know how to fix it.

Long time since I used WinME, but here goes....

you need to open control panel then double click desktop themes icon and look for an option to use default ME or similar one, that will change all the sounds and pointers to default.

different themes will be in a drop down box near the top if I remember.

Start-control panel, sounds and audio devices (or if you have the new control panel... im not sure, but who wants that, set it to classic dang nabbit), then switch the sound scheme to windows default.
