Lost key for OUTLOOK EXPRESS

Greetings,
We got DSL yesterday but when I try to check my email on my laptop, which has never been hooked to the internet before, I get a login screen from MS Outlook Express asking for my 25-digit registration key. I don’t have one nor do I have the disk or packaging. What do I do now? If Outlook Express came with the laptop three years ago then we have misplaced the disk.
Please help.

I've never had outlook express ask for anything it is usually bundled with windows and opens and works with any computer with windows installed already. Are you using MS Office, as your office suite or are you using works?

I am using Works.
Before DSL I never saw the OE login screen pop up. If I go to TBird as Mark advised, how do I stop OE from popping up?

 

you can try this
goto control panel click on mail then come down to always use this profile and pick whichever one you installed.



you can also right click on the ie icon on your desktop>click properties>then clickprograms and use the dropdown menu to pick your email program.

 

All of this indicates MS Outlook, not Outlook Express (OE). OE does not come on a disk; it's bundled with all Windows systems, same as Internet Explorer, and it would not be prompting your for a registration key, since it does not need to be registered to use it.
