Lost outlook express e-mail!

I'm running windows xp professional (sp2) and used the program outlook express backup restore to restore a backup of my previous e-mails when I re-formatted the HD. Problem was (other than my being a moron!) I didn't make a backup of the current files, thus when I restored the 'old' ones I guess they installed over the previous files.
The problem is (natch!) I have some imp docs I need and cannot find the obliterated? database despite looking for the files for 2 days (I have no hidden files!).
When I try to look in the 'my documents' folder I only find the current identity not the 'other one'! In fact I can't even find the 'system restore file' seen before despite the program working (unfortunately not helping in this situation!).
When I e-mailed the company producing the program their response was "Nothing doing here. You just restored your database to one of the previous states." Right, except I can't find ANY other states!!!!
Sorry for the length of this but if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it!

 

You should be able to see all deleted and or stored emails within dbx files with this free software here .
