hi there, just to let u know before i start, im not what u might call comp literate so please be patient with me.:confused

i have been looking through alot of threads on here, tried alot of the stuff but still nothing.
to give u a breif rundown, down an complete new install and after the install i have no sound, device manager is not reporting anything bad to do with sound, but i dont have a restore or back up disk for this comp, the manufacturer isnt listing this machine so they r no help.

    machine details.
    emachine 5250
windows xp sp2 with sp3 upgrade
thats about all i can tell u but i have run everest and will attach the report.

i expect u prob need more info so plz post and ill do what i can

    thanx all
    wayne

its not any series as far as i can tell, i have spoke to emachines and they dont keep records for machines out of warrenty or older than 3 years, this is about 4 now.

Really dissapointed in them and wouldnt go there again :(, they basically said its my problem.

I have searched 5250 and it does come up with machines.

but im not so sure its a driver prob as the device manager sayd everything is working fine, nothing is reporting a problem, well to be honest its got me completly stupped, have downloaded everything from intel, just lost now :)
