lost sound

Hello everyone. I am new here and my name is Debbie and hope that I will meet new web friends. Ok the question is.I crashed a while back trying out aol.. I finally got my modem back thur gateway which is what I have a gateway laptop. I can not find my sound anywhere in my computer .Maybe someone can help me get some sound back or tell me what to try.

 

ok deluga, so just to clarify, you cant play any sound through the speakers e.g. music etc?

 

hey ok the only sound that does come thur is a kinda buz sound when i am using aol instant messenger. other than that there is nothing.

yes, I am not able to play music,dvds, games,I get no sounds at all.when I go to aol I don't get the u got mail nothing. hope you can help. thanks

 

have you tried using different speakers? maybe your speakers are kaput

 

or the sound drivers arent installed?

 

no and they r fine thanks anyway i will get this fxed.
