Lost the Update

My XP Professional and Works8 have bundled updates that notify me when they arrive. The last one asked me to click that I agree. Something went wrong with clicking, so that I didn't seem to agree and the update vanished. How can I find it again?
I preferred WindowsMe's updating. The Update website would search my computer any time and send whatever updates were missing. It was great! Is anything like this available for XP Professional?

If the inbuilt update has missed anything or it has gone wrong yes, you can use the online Windows or the newer Microsoft Update site to get any outstanding updates.

you may need to allow an ActiveX control file from MS, its safe, then once your given the choice of Auto or Custom, I prefer to choose Custom and see what updates you maybe missing, then review the High Priority and Optional updates and choose the ones you want, once finished click Review and Install.... once all ok'd they will download and install.

Could go to my computer(right click) / properties / automatic updates and click on "Offer updates again that I've previouly hidden" ...
