Just yesterday I was on my computer looking at Major Geeks very own website when the pages began to load very slowly. That is not normal for my PC. I thought nothing of it maybe it was just a lag or something. So it began to grow worse and worse until the pages would no longer respond. Then the entire site was unaccessible. Before I knew it I had no home page for Mozilla or IE. The funny thing was that night I never lost the wireless connection. It just would not connect to the Browser. Well, it would connect every so often but it took a super long time or at least it seemed like a long time.

Now, today I jumped on the computer and there was no connection at all. Just the red x on the wireless icon in the system tray. So I tried to connect and no luck.

This is the interesting part, or at least it is to me. I eventually got the connection to go through using the internet gateway connection. For some reason after the system realizes that it still can not connect to the wireless router it then drops the entire connection again. So I am literally having to connect every five minutes or so.

    Any ideas might help.

I did power off the router and the modem and then power them back on. Basically resetting them. I'm not sure what is going on to be honest? The connection was solid for at least a month, then this.

So I spoke with motorola and cox. Motorola basically told me what I needed to hear and I had already did what they needed me to do. Though there were some theories handed down. One being that a firmware update of some kind was performed or needed to be done. If it had already been done it would have been done to the modem, if it needs to be done then the update needs to physically be done for the router. The second being the wireless phones in our house. They are 2.4 GHz as well. Would this cause a problem?

Well for the time being I am stuck re-connecting every 5 minutes. Darn thing connects but never fully or something.
