    Hi

Not really no, you'd need to be able to boot into Windows to allow you to use a program like http://www.majorgeeks.com/Magical_Jelly_Bean_Keyfinder_d2612.html to aid you in recovering your XP serial key. Is your PC an OEM like from DELL, HP, SONY etc if so mots of them pop a liceence COA on the PC case somewhere so look for that.

However you will need a XP CD if your to re-install or fix Windows, no other way to do this sadly.

BUT.. what is actually happeing at startup, where does the startup get to, any error messages etc?

Can you boot into Safe Mode ( F8 at boot and choose Safe Mode with Networking )?

The key should be stick on the side of the pc, not with the disk. Are you sure it is not there?
