Ok, here goes. I booted up my computer. It turned on fine, and then it died. For no reason. Now, i plug it in and mash the power button, but nothing happens. On top of that, my MP3 player was connected and now it wont connect to my other computer. Help!

You get no lights, fan or hard drive noises?

Did you hear any pops or bangs when the PC shutdown?

1st suspects are if your PCs power cable plug has fuse then that may have blown, try another cable or change fuse ( hard if its one of the sealed units ), your PSU or motherboard may have expired, easiest one to test is the PSU if you have spare PC or nice friend with a spare PSU.

does your MP3 player work if not connected to a PC or is that dead too?

without looking at it all in person, seems as if a component has blown and possibly damaged your MP3 player in the process.
