Love Computers but Wow So Irritated

Hello. I don't think I would even come close to classifying myself as a computer nerd but.....at the same time...I love them! I love technology and where it seems to be going! However after building my first system from scratch & stressing the whole time until it was up & running (beautifully I might add ), I decided to buy a laptop. I've always wanted one and have always been intrested in the HP's. So...I decided to buy the HP Pavilion dv7-1232nr. It was actually a clearance item & I fell in love with it! I love Vista & I love my laptop. 8 have however run into an issue that seems to be pretty common with these laptops & that is the AC adapter/charger. I'm stubborn and would always rather try to fix it myself. I ended up however having to call support & listen to someone I could barely undrstamd, walk me through downloading update BIOs whch was "supposedly" going to keep my battery & charger from ever doing this again! Well....not so! I was able to get it backnom after multiple attempts with support but now I'm back in the same boat I was in last night. 15% charge left & no computer. My computer Is only 10 months old so I don't understand why the adapter would only worm temporarily. I have to depend on this laptop for my home based photography business so this is killing me. Especially since I have been unable to fix it myself. Like I said, I don't know much about laptops so Im a little afraid to try anything to fix this one. Yet I'm really restricted on the amount of time Inhabe to actually mess around with this issue. My one year warranty is up July 1st & I am hoping not to have to send it off due to my deadlines with my photography business. Does anyone have any ideas? Would it be worth me buying a new AC adapter first & see if that works?

 

Didn't get from your post just what the issue is- AC adapter not working or battery not holding a charge?
