low disk space

I've read the similar threads but didn't see anything addressing this problem. My wife ran her HP Mini notebook with XP down to 0 (zero) disk space. Now I can't remove anything - message says it can't do it because there is no disk space. Ran CCleaner but didn't get enough disk space. Ran check disk but that didn't help. Can't run defrag. What can I do?

Make the paging file small and static (not resizable).

When you delete things, hold down shift when you delete it. It will bypass the recycle bin.

Turn off system restore, but beware, this will remove all restore points.

Now, reboot.

Those *should* be enough to get you free space to uninstall applications.

:crap Then, when I asked my wife which applications I could remove from her notebook, she insisted that she needed them all. So she got a very early Christmas gift - a new laptop - and I now have a notebook. Maybe I'll put Google Maps on it and give it to Rudolph so he'll have no more excuses for taking me to the wrong house.
